Welcome to IWEAYR-12

       Dear Colleagues
I am very pleased to inform you that on the occasion of celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Faculty of Science at Sri Racha, Kasetsart University (KU), the 12th International Workshop for East Asian Young Rheologists (IWEAYR-12) will be organized during 8 to11 February 2017 at the Ambassador City Jomtien Hotel, Na Jomtien, Pattaya, Thailand.

International Workshop for East Asian Young Rheologists (IWEAYR) conference was initiated by Seoul National University, Korea in 2006 and the last one was held in Shenzhen, China in 2016. All of the past conferences were very successful. The last conference welcomed all over 120 participants and over 80 oral and poster presentations. The IWEAYR is continuously growing with its main aim to meet and discuss the development and advance of research work on polymer rheology in Asian countries. This conference includes providing participants an opportunity to present their research to experts and colleagues in an international environment.

With this conference, it is not only giving an opportunity for researchers to present and discuss their research works as well as to exchange the updated and advanced ideas of their expertise, but also initial stimulating the development of research works on polymer rheology among two hundreds of expected participants. In addition, we also pursue the group activities for students enhancing their relationships among young participants during this conference in order to create friends or colleagues for contributing an opportunity to join research works in the future.

On behalf of the organizing committee of IWEAYR-12, it is my great privilege and pleasure to cordially invite you all to participate in IWEAYR-12 that is going to be held from 8 to 11 February 2017. Besides, the participants will be strengthened for collaboration in scientific conference, I hope that the participants will enjoy a wealth of cultural landmarks and attractions in Pattaya City of Thailand.

I hope you and your colleagues will join us for this attracting conference!

Somchit Palakas Dean of Faculty of Science at Sriracha

IWEAYR History

Rheology is an interdisciplinary research area in the field of material science,
and its importance has been growing rapidly because of scientific / industrial development of various kinds of materials. For the rheological research in the next generation, we absolutely need young active rheologists who can flexibly make an international and/or inter-institute collaboration on a basis of their friendship.

The International Workshop for East Asian Young Rheologists (IWEAYR) was
organized for providing the East Asian young rheologists with an opportunity of
starting this collaboration. This is a quite informal workshop, and its basic idea is
to highly encourage the young researchers to communicate/discuss/interact
under a friendly and informal atmosphere. The attending professors just help
    the young researchers.

The 12th IWEAYR will be held in Chonburi, Thailand in 2017, in succession.
The conference is to provide young researchers in the various aspects of Polymer Rheology and Material Science an opportunity to present their work and to enhance contacts among the East Asian community and with colleagues in other countries.
We hope the conference will also serve to boost research and education in the East
Asian communities. The young researchers willing to start-up his/her future collaboration as well as professors wishing to help it are highly welcome to join the workshop.

Following the first IWEAYR in Seoul,Korea
in 2006, IWEAYR has been successfully organized in Asian countries with a circulating manner

    Conference Trip

The IWEAR conference trip will combine a most famous tourist attractions of Pattaya - Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden. Another place we suggest the participants visiting to the local market, namely "Pattaya Floating Market".

    Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden

This botanical garden close to Pattaya is the largest botanical garden in South East Asia. The vast gardens are set in an area of around 600 acres (2,4 sq,km.). The entire area is more like a theme park, with daily cultural shows, restaurants and accommodation as well as a vast area showcasing individually themed gardens.
    (More details as following: www.nongnoochtropicalgarden.com)

The Four Regions Floating Market, Pattaya

The four regions Pattaya floating market; the largest man-made floating market. has been opened since November 2008. It is Pattaya’s latest attraction, and occupies 23 Rais (37,000 square meters). The market is separated into four sections – each representing and selling items from the four major parts of Thailand (north, northeast, central and south). Expect to find many eateries, fruit stalls, souvenir shops and some art galleries. There is also a cultural show every afternoon. The 350 million baht market has over 114 shops and water vendors selling authentic Thai food, desserts and specialties from all over the kingdom. For a floating market experience, hire a man-powered boat to get around and discover the richness of the surrounding Thai architecture and riverside life. Typically, the boat is big enough for four people and can be hired for a small fee for around 30 minutes.
